Betty Lou Farhner, 80, passed away peacefully of natural causes, Saturday, February 19, 2022 in Kirkland, WA. She was at home surrounded by loved ones, following 6 weeks of hospice care.

Betty was born September 20, 1941 in Atlantic, Iowa to Leona (Jessen) and Orin Robson. She moved to Wichita Kansas the summer of 1956 where she met Eddie, LaRoy Edward Farhner, and they attended Wichita East High School. Betty and Ed were married January 23, 1960, and had three children, Christy, Gary and Larry, before they moved to Washington in 1966. In 1970, while living in Bellevue, Betty gave birth to twins, Eydie and Eddie. She was named and celebrated as the 'Mother of the Year' by the Eastside Twins Club in 1973, of which she served in various offices, and was a member.

Betty was a dedicated Mom, raising five children with a lot of duties, including sewing clothes, making costumes and driving to soccer and baseball practices and painting lessons. She also found time to work outside the home, especially as the kids grew, and held jobs at Bellevue College assisting the Athletic Director, Washington Federal bank, Eddie Bauer, and at Ken's Towing.

She is survived by her husband LaRoy (Ed) of 62 years, as well as her 5 children, Christy Clarke of Concrete, WA., Gary Farhner of Duvall, WA., Larry Farhner of Bellevue, WA., Eydie Wilson of Blaine, WA., and Thomas (Ed) Farhner of Kirkland, WA., her 9 grandchildren, Andrew, Sharaya, Kaila, Brandon, Benjamin, Daniel, Thomas, Nathan, and Tyler, her 6 great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Laila, Ryleigh, Riglee, Eila, and Aniyah, and her brother Phillip and sister Wilma; as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Myrna Freeman.

Betty enjoyed music and loved to dance and be with her friends and family. She loved to play games, including bingo, Yahtzee, backgammon and do crossword puzzles. She especially enjoyed going to the casino and playing Pinochle with her lady friends. She liked to cook, bake and try new recipes. She showed her love by providing feasts, while hosting family and friends, all with her special touch. She made everyone feel welcome and loved. But most of all, she loved her family, and as the Matriarch of the Farhner family, she was its very heart.
She will be deeply missed, rest in peace Betty Lou.
