David Lee Hart was born January 22, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Richard and Peggy Hart. He was the middle of three brothers, Rick and John. He attended Prisk Elementary, Stanford Junior High, and R.A. Millikan High School in Long Beach, California. Later he attended Long Beach City College and California State University in Fullerton where he competed in gymnastics as he earned his Bachelors in Physical Education.

During his time at LBCC he won the National Junior College High Bar Championship. At CSUF he competed in numerous NCAA gymnastics tournaments.

During college he began coaching gymnastics. He met Debbie Cooke, a gymnast from Sacramento, California, while coaching at a camp in Squaw Valley and they were married in 1985. They later moved up to the Seattle, Washington area and they have two daughters: Darlee Lynn and Cristina Maria.

Dave's dream was to start a gymnastics business of his own was realized when he opened Hart's Gymnastics Center in the Kent/Auburn area in 2007. His teams have won several championships and he was very active in gymnastics at the local level, state, regional, and national levels. He has friends and colleagues in the gymnastics industry all over the country.

Dave fiercely loved his family and friends. He loved a good debate, he loved golf, and he loved coaching gymnastics. He would constantly talk about his gymnasts and the life lessons that could be taught through the sport he loved.

David passed away on November 27, 2023 in St. Joseph's hospital in Tacoma at the age of 64 due to a stroke and complications from pneumonia. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, his two daughters, his two brothers, and various nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 3 pm - Cornerstone Community Church, 25030 Military Rd S, Kent, WA.
