Virginia Carol Roscoe, 83, of Snohomish, WA, peacefully passed away on March 27, 2024 with family members at her side

Virginia (Ginny) was born December 4, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA to John and Alice Cole. She graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1958 and then attended Baldwin Wallace College for two years. She married Ron Roscoe in 1968, then moved to State College, PA for Ron to attend graduate school. While living there, Ginny gave birth to their first child, Tammy. Shortly afterwards, they moved to South Carolina, where they had two sons, Lyle and Wyatt. Husband Ron was ordained as a Lutheran pastor in 1976, and Ginny worked part-time with the church.

Sadly, Ron passed away in 1985 at the age of 45. Ginny carried on, raised three children on her own and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina the same year her oldest child graduated from high school.

Ginny worked as a teacher's assistant and part-time educator within the Lexington, SC school district. After this, she worked as a financial administrative assistant with a local clearing house association where she assisted financial institutions with electronic banking transactions for the Federal Reserve Banks. Ginny also worked as an teachers'aide tutoring students with learning disabilities, which she really enjoyed.

After retirement, Ginny moved to Snohomish, WA to be closer to family. While here, she volunteered at her grandchildren's school library. She was an avid reader, enjoyed taking walks, and taking care of her poodle dog. Ginny especially loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed exercise classes at the local YMCA and walked two 5K fundraisers during her treatments for cancer.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ronald E. Roscoe. She is survived by her children, Tammy Evans (Bruce), Lyle Roscoe, and Wyatt Roscoe (Melanie). She has three grandchildren: Ava, Lillian and Wylie.

Ginny will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. A Celebration of Life drop in will be at the Mill Creek YMCA on April 28, 2024, from 2-4:30pm.

Ginny's ability to focus on what she had and to look for the positive was impressive to many. She was petite in stature, but her courage and desire to live were large. Harkening back to her birthplace in Pittsburgh, she was said to have been "forged in steel". She was loved dearly and will be missed immensely.
