Jean Loomis Phelps, age 93, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024. She was born in Alliance Nebraska on August 1, 1930, and grew up in Omaha. She graduated from University of Nebraska and began a career in journalism at the Omaha World Herald.
She was funny, sarcastic, assertive and a good writer. She loved her family more than anything in the world, except for perhaps an ice-cold gin and tonic, a walk outside, playing cards and games, or a nice cat or a big golden retriever.
Carrying on her legacy is her son Jim Phelps and her daughter Mary Gorman. She is also loved, and will be greatly missed, by her daughter in law Karen and grandchildren Steven and Amy.
