John Joseph Flower 73, of Bellevue, Washington passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2024. John was born April 27, 1951, in Seattle, Washington to Leonard and Mary Flower. He grew up in Shelton, Washington and attended the University of Washington. After working in politics in Washington D.C., John made his way back home and later married Colleen Donley in Seattle, Washington on July 21, 1980. Together they raised two sons, Patrick and Matthew.
John was a dedicated father and touched the lives of many. He will be remembered as a friend to anyone and everyone. Wherever he went, he always knew someone and was excited to converse about anything, particularly Husky football and music. Anyone that knew him can attest to his generosity, kindness, and sincerity. John always displayed his gratitude to those in his life and any favor was repaid ten-fold and with his personal touch. John was a true gentleman and will be missed dearly by all who were lucky enough to know him.
John was preceded in death by his sister Kathryn, and his parents Leonard and Mary.
John is survived by his two sons: Patrick Flower and his wife Brittany of Frisco, Texas, and Matthew Flower of Kirkland, Washington. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Kennedy Flower of Frisco, Texas.

A funeral service will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, at St. James Catholic Church in Seattle at 12:10 PM with a viewing prior at 11:00 AM, followed by a burial service at St. Patrick Cemetery in Kent at 2:00 PM.
Dearest Patrick and Matt, Your Dad was a sweet and wonderful man. I always enjoyed getting to spend time with him. I pray you always remember how much he loved you both and how proud he was of you! I will be celebrating his life Friday during the service. I’m sorry I can’t be there but you will be in my thoughts and prayers! I Love You Both

It was much too soon to say "goodbye" and I morn for all of the lost memories and experiences Kennedy would have had with you. We will be make sure your memory lives with her and she knows how wonderful her Papa John was and how much you loved her!
