With great sadness, we share the news of the passing of Brian Christopher Moore, age 41, on June 8, 2024.
Brian was born in Fairfax, Virginia, and graduated from Sherando High School in Stephens City, Virginia. He continued his education at Lord Fairfax Community College, Christopher Newport University, and the University of Phoenix to earn his Bachelor's degree in Business Management. The Pacific Northwest captured his heart upon first moving to the area in 2004, and he resided in Seattle and Shoreline, Washington for the following two decades.
The light Brian shined to all that he knew will continue to illuminate his family and friends. He had the kindest heart and the special ability to collect people in his life over the years. Once you were in Brian's orbit, you knew you would be loved, cared for, and checked in on often.
Brian loved to share his many passions, particularly his deep love for all music. Brian frequented live shows and inspired many to connect with music on a deeper level. He attended hundreds of concerts throughout the years and could recount details of so many experiences. He also enjoyed performing music and sharing that joy with others, notably the drums and the guitar. He loved being a member of multiple bands through the years, from jazz band and marching band in middle school to the Amazing Crotch Rockets in high school to Paper Beats Rock in Seattle.
Working in the restaurant industry was the perfect fit for Brian. His pride in hospitality was evident in the care he took for guests and co-workers. He recognized the importance in connecting over a meal in good times and bad. He was exceptional at recommending dishes and beverage pairings. Brian enjoyed cooking at home along with introducing his loved ones to new foods and special restaurants. He also connected deeply with the teams that he was fortunate to both serve with and lead in restaurants on both coasts. Brian's smile conveyed his love for his work with every restaurant story that he regaled.
Brian understood the value of the simple pleasures in life and regularly connected with nature around him. The presence of moving water was a comfort in his life that he included in his travels and outings. Brian found joy in his love for animals as well. He spent many happy hours spoiling Xena, his sweet Doberman.
No love for Brian was deeper than his for his lifelong love, Jessica. First meeting in high school, Brian quickly recognized that he had found his best friend and true partner in life. Brian and Jessica were at their happiest in each other's company, whether on an adventure or relaxing at home. Brian and Jess' love, commitment, and deep understanding of one another served as an inspiration, and the example that they set will continue to impact the love stories for all who knew them. Brian would consider this to be his greatest legacy.
In addition to his spouse Jessica Moore, Brian is survived by his mother Linda Hilbert; father Chris Moore; stepfather Tad Hilbert; siblings Nick Hilbert (Francis Abarca), Sarah Moore, and Thomas Moore; nieces Rosaleen Hilbert and Cora Wilson; nephew Andrew Moreno; in-laws Doni Taylor, Terry Taylor, and Rachel Taylor; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
Brian would be best honored in this time by playing your favorite music at the perfect decibel (loud) and reaching out to your loved ones to share how much you care.
Two Celebration of Life ceremonies are being hosted for Brian, and all who loved him are welcome.
