Luana was born on February 10, 1932 to father Jintaro and mother Josue Uyeda. She was the oldest of three siblings, sister Fusako Akimoto and brother Sam Uyeda (both deceased).
She was born and raised Tacoma, Washington. The family was interned during World War II at Tule Lake, California. After the end of the internment, the family returned to Tacoma.
Luana graduated from Lincoln High School in 1949. She went on to attend the University of Washington and graduated from pharmacy school in 1953. She worked as a pharmacist until 2012.
Luana married Keith Hiroshi (Pete) Yoshino on August 11, 1957.
She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing card games with friends, and traveling. She was a devoted UW Husky football and Seahawks fan.
Luana is survived by her daughter Cynthia Heyamoto (Gary Heyamoto), son Todd Yoshino (Ted Fisher), grandchildren Tyler Heyamoto (Jenna), Taryn Dabb (Taylor), and four great grandchildren.
