Leland "Del" Robison: A Collector of Knowledge, Joy, and Memories

Leland Delbert "Del" Robison, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024, at the age of 82 in his Bellevue, Washington home. Born on April 24, 1942, in Prairie City, Oregon, Del's life was defined by deep faith, resilience, and a love of learning and connection.

A lifelong collector, Del approached life with endless curiosity. He collected musical instruments, model cars, knowledge, and--most importantly--memories, building a treasure trove of shared moments with his family, friends, and community.

Del grew up in the Seattle area with his parents Lee & Mac, and his brother Jon, sharing adventures that forged a lifetime bond. After graduating from Renton High School and the University of Washington, he embarked on a career in civil engineering and sales, moving his family across California while turning each city into an opportunity for exploration and adventure.

Faith was the cornerstone of Del's life. A dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served a mission from 1961 to 1963 and later as a seminary teacher for 14 years, where humor, wisdom, and warmth left a lasting impact on his students.

In 1983, Del remarried. Together with his sweetheart, Pearl, they built a blended family filled with love, faith, and shared adventures. He was a devoted father to Rauna, Ian, Treavor, and Paul, and a proud stepfather to Debbie, Christeen, and Stephen. Del also nurtured a vibrant garden, which overflowed with vegetables, berries, and even a fig tree whose fruit he enjoyed in his final summer.

Music was another of Del's lifelong companions. Whether leading family sing-alongs, playing hymns, or performing a duet with his wife, Pearl, his melodies brought joy and strengthened family traditions, especially during the holidays.

Despite health challenges after a stroke in 1999, Del's resilience and Pearl's devoted care allowed him to continue embracing life with gratitude. His optimism, humor, and unwavering faith touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

Del is survived by his wife, Pearl; 4 children, 2 stepchildren, 21 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless friends. He leaves a legacy of faith, love, and a collector's heart, reminding us that life's greatest treasures are the memories we make and the love we share.

A memorial service to honor Del's life will be held on November 30, 2024, at 4:00 PM at the Bellevue Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10675 NE 20th Street, Bellevue, WA. All are welcome to celebrate the life of a man who collected joy, knowledge, and love wherever he went.
