How Did We Do?

Ardith Beitel, 63, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, in Seattle, Washington. Born on February 16, 1962, in Bowling Green, Ohio, Ardith lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, and a deep commitment to both her professional and personal communities.

Over the course of nearly four decades in Quality Assurance, Ardith built a career defined by excellence and integrity. She spent more than ten years at Boeing, where she took great pride in her work and held her colleagues in the highest regard. Her time there was not only professionally fulfilling but also personally meaningful due to the strong bonds she formed with her co-workers.

In the last five years of her career, Ardith found what she described as her true calling at Puget Sound Energy (PSE), where she served as a Quality Manager. She embraced every aspect of her role with enthusiasm and purpose, feeling deeply connected to the mission and people of the organization. Her passion for quality extended beyond the workplace through her active involvement in ASQ (American Society for Quality), where she cultivated lasting friendships and contributed meaningfully to the professional community.

Ardith's life was grounded in kindness and generosity. She aligned with the Buddhist way of living, embracing mindfulness and compassion in all that she did. Those who knew her were inspired by her gracious spirit and unwavering authenticity. She was surrounded by love throughout her life and especially in her final days.

She is survived by her beloved spouse of 15 years, Susan Garbe of Fall City, Washington; her mother Valerie Beitel of Michigan; and her brother Mark Beitel and nephew Jesse Sims and sister Leslie Beitel, brother-in-law Rich Goboly and two nieces Samatha and Melissa also residing in Michigan. Ardith was predeceased by her father, Ed Beitel, sister Linda Goboly and sister-in-law Kathy Beitel.

Ardith Beitel leaves behind a legacy of warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

A memorial gathering to honor Ardith's life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at her home in Fall City, Washington.

CandleArdith's witty, wise and kind nature held a special place in our Wednesday Writers writer's group here in Snoqualmie Valley. We were always glad when she and Susan joined us at the table. I, and others in our group, will miss her greatly.
