Georgienne "Gigi" Jennice Hyden (Allingham) passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 67. Gigi is survived by Tim Hyden, her husband of 47 years, who often said she was the kindest yet strongest person he ever knew.
Raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Gigi was known for her energy and determination. A ballet dancer, gymnast, and cheerleader in her youth, continuing later in life with belly dancing and Latin dancing. Gigi pursued her passion for helping others by studying behavioral health for children at the University of New Mexico, before taking on the challenges of law school, while being a Wife and Mother - graduating with honors. Her understanding and compassion for the law earned her the honor of serving as a Pro Tem Judge for the Superior Court for Bankruptcies after her family's moved to Washington in the 1990s. Gigi was never just a lawyer - she was an advocate for the less fortunate, making a difference in countless lives. She was also an analyst at the New Mexico State Legislature, aided the State Police in obtaining State and Federal funding and supported New Mexico gubernatorial campaigns.
When Gigi retired early for health reasons, she embraced the joys of family, home, and the simple pleasures of life. She was a devoted mom to her two children, Jennice and Jonathan Hyden, who carry on her legacy of love and resilience. Her two grandchildren, Brandon and Vanessa, were her happiness, giving her the opportunity to enjoy life through their eyes. Gigi welcomed and loved her daughters-in-law, Maggie and Valerie, with open arms. Gigi's other immediate family members include brothers Mack and Bill Allingham, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Pam and Denny Klein and Patty and Craig Boller, and mother-in-law Pat Hyden.
Her home and yard were sanctuaries of peace and beauty, reflecting her nurturing spirit and artistic touch. She created a haven not just for her family, but for her beloved animals, including bunnies, cats, and the many birds that flocked to her garden. Gigi's yard, filled with blooming flowers and gentle whispers of nature, was her sacred retreat. An avid reader, she could often be found on her front porch, immersed in a book, surrounded by the sounds of wind chimes and colorful lighting.
Gigi's compassion, empathy, and humor left a mark on everyone she met. Gigi lived with love and light that will never fade. Her wisdom, quick wit, and kind, loving nature will remain forever in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
Gigi's family plans a celebration of her remarkable life. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her memory a blessing to all who loved her. Look up at the sky and see her dancing with the angels!
