How Did We Do?

Michael Philip Fallon passed away on January 28th, 2026, at the age of 81. Born in Seattle, WA on August 30th, 1944, to Richard "Dick" and Elizabeth "Betty" Fallon. Michael was affectionately known as Mike to all who knew him, including his admired elder brother Richard "Bud" Fallon.

Mike met his wife of 57 years, Mary, at Alki Beach in the summer of 1965. They would wed on June 22nd, 1968 and lived much of their lives in Bellevue, WA, with their two children, Kelly and Christopher "Chris", growing up in the Lake Hills neighborhood.

Mike was an avid athlete in his youth, participating in both football and baseball, excelling in both sports for his alma mater O'Dea Catholic High School, graduating in 1963. He went on to graduate from Seattle University some years later. Mike would go on to work for the Olympic Hotel in Downtown Seattle for several years before pivoting to being the lead manager for a JCPenney distribution warehouse. Later in life, he would work for Lamps Plus, where he got to flex his friendly demeanor and knack for holding a bubbly & gracious conversation with anyone -- especially one of his favorite topics: indoor lighting.

Mike would also spend much of his free time coaching youth sports for both of his children. When not out on the baseball diamond or soccer field, he was tending to his yard, spending much of his weekends and evenings pruning, watering, raking, and mowing. The yard was an extension of the love he had for his family, particularly his dear bride, Mary, or "Mare" as he affectionately referred to her. Mike would give friendly nicknames to everyone close to him in life, and his genuine affection for others was always politely demonstrated through his laughter and unassuming demeanor.

Mike was an avid local sports fan, and would eagerly root for the Seahawks, UW Huskies, and Mariners, and loved to watch any baseball or basketball game live and in person while enjoying some peanuts or a frozen treat from Dairy Queen. When not watching sports, Mike enjoyed watching old films and home improvement television programs. He had a boisterous laugh and a sly sense of humor, and he was a tremendous provider for his family, planting roots in Bellevue and living in the same home for over 40 years, holding lengthy conversations between his fellow neighbors and supporting local businesses. Mike was certainly a creature of habit, but his best habits were remaining loyal to his family & community for his entire life.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him by his sense of humor, inate devotion, and driven work ethic. He is survived by his elder brother, Bud and his wife, Nancy; daughter, Kelly and her husband, Dennis; grandson, Andrew; son, Chris; sister-in-law, Lois; niece, Annie and her husband, Rick; their children, Danny & Sean.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Wednesday, February 25th at 11am, at St. Louise Church, located at 141 156th Ave SE. Bellevue, WA, 98007.

All who knew Mike are welcome to attend and remember & honor his memory.
