Muriel Iverson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and gentle spirit, was born on September 28, 1931, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She later made her way to Pendleton, Oregon, where she met the love of her life, affectionately known as "Smokey." Their bond was immediate and enduring, and together they built a life centered on love and family, welcoming four daughters in quick succession.
In pursuit of greater opportunity, Smokey moved the family to Seattle, Washington, where he worked for Boeing to provide for their growing household. When the time was right, Muriel returned to the workforce, dedicating more than 30 years to Pacific Northwest Bell. Working the graveyard shift was not always easy, but it was a sacrifice she made with quiet strength to support her family.
Muriel and Smokey shared a deep and abiding love. After his passing in 1997, she missed him beyond measure, carrying his memory with her always.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Victoria (Nichols) and Harry "Spark" (Lane); her daughters, Peggy (Stevenson), Carla (Yurkovich), and Roxanna (French); and her grandchildren, Michael (Sandy) and Amanda (Hebner).
Muriel is survived by her grandchildren: Andrew (Hebner), Calei (Vaughn), Cody (Sandy), Isaac (Larsen), Afton (Larsen), Cassidy (Yurkovich), Steve Roman (Yurkovich), Taylor (Dea), Tyler (Deane), Rykinna (Sandy), and Austin (Hebner), along with many extended family members who will cherish her memory.
Muriel was a dreamy soul who found joy in painting, dancing, and gazing at the clouds. She approached life--and its end--with a quiet curiosity, once expressing that she was not afraid to pass, as she looked forward to seeing "what was next."
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
My Mother gave us the gift of art and music. Her and I had many adventures which were private between the two of us only. Like several trips to Canada which were enhanced by several bottles of 🍾
Our last visit was last week when her shining soul came to my house to tell me she was on her way and what a beautiful bright shing gold star she was. She was a believer. She said read the Bible as if it was a letter to you.
Later , Mom visit when you can. I'll be looking for you
